Tacking
All my life I have nailed plasterboard, I have only ever used 30mm nails (never 40mm) - I've never had a problem. I cannot understand why some specifiers required the longer nails. For a short while I did staple plasterboard but the staples broke the paper and some problems resulted. Staples are more than 100 times cheaper than screws and so they must be the way forward. I usually staple on angle beads even to my medium density block work.
Nails are a tenth of the price of screws and hammers are cheaper than drivers and don’t require electricity, and quicker and more versatile too.
I use sticky scrim on all the joints. This is a great product.
