Why I don’t use aerated concrete blocks

  • They crack too easily
  • they move around too easily
  • It is not a good idea to combine insulation and structure into one unit
  • They give insufficient thermal mass
  • Because of their proneness to move around cracks open up too easily and these dramatically reduce any air tightness that may have been there initially
  • It is difficult to adhere mortar to perp ends and plaster key is marginal
  • Difficult to fix well to especially stairs and heavy things
  • Not sound proof enough
