Why I don’t use aerated concrete blocks
- They crack too easily
- they move around too easily
- It is not a good idea to combine insulation and structure into one unit
- They give insufficient thermal mass
- Because of their proneness to move around cracks open up too easily and these dramatically reduce any air tightness that may have been there initially
- It is difficult to adhere mortar to perp ends and plaster key is marginal
- Difficult to fix well to especially stairs and heavy things
- Not sound proof enough
